Incubator
Choose one sized for the eggs you plan to hatch, with automatic turning if you can. Run it for a day or two before setting eggs so the temperature is stable.
Thermometer and hygrometer
A separate thermometer and humidity reading lets you check the incubator’s own display.
Candling torch
A bright torch lets you check development and remove clear or failed eggs, usually around day 7 and again before lockdown.
Brooder and heat source
Chicks need a draught-free brooder with a heat plate or lamp, shallow drinkers and chick crumb.
