Welcome to The Eggschange (https://theeggschange.co.uk). These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our website. By creating an account, posting a listing, or using the Site, you agree to them.
1. Who we are
The Eggschange is a classifieds marketplace for poultry-related adverts (for example hatching eggs, birds, and equipment). We also operate a small Shop for goods we sell ourselves.
We do not run online auctions on this Site. We do not operate a multi-vendor store network. Third-party sellers use classified listings only.

2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when you register. You are responsible for your login details and for activity under your account. We may suspend accounts that breach these Terms, post fraudulent ads, or raise welfare or safety concerns.
You may register to post listings and to view seller contact details / enquire on listings. We do not operate bidder registration or bidding.
3. Classified listings
Listings are private advertisements between users. A typical lifecycle is: create → publish → expire or renew → mark sold. Paid features (if any) relate to listing packages or boosts. Current public pricing is £1 for 90 days unless we publish a different package on the Advertise page.
You must only list items you are entitled to sell. Descriptions and photos must be honest. We may remove misleading, illegal, spam, or unsafe listings.
Live animals and hatching eggs: sellers must follow applicable UK animal health, welfare, and transport rules. We may remove ads that appear unsafe or non-compliant.
4. Buying and selling (private ads)
For classified ads, payment, collection, delivery, and contracts are between buyer and seller. The Eggschange is a noticeboard/platform, not a party to those private sales (except when you buy from our own Shop).
We do not hold buyer–seller funds for classified ads, do not charge a buyer’s premium, and do not issue auction invoices.
5. Our Shop
Products in the Shop are sold by us. Checkout and card payments are processed by Stripe. Shop orders are separate from private classified sales.
6. Fees and refunds
Listing package / boost fees are as shown at purchase. Refunds of packages or boosts are at our discretion except where UK consumer law requires otherwise. There are no auction “non-paying winner” penalties because we do not run auctions.
7. Acceptable use
- No stolen goods, illegal wildlife trade, or prohibited content
- No fake listings, fake enquiries, or sockpuppet accounts to mislead others
- No harassment, spam, or scraping that harms the Site
- Report suspicious ads to info@theeggschange.co.uk
8. Intellectual property
By uploading listing photos/content you grant us a licence to display them on the Site and in related marketing of the marketplace. You must own or have rights to what you upload.
9. Liability
We provide the Site on an “as available” basis. We are not responsible for the quality, legality, or delivery of items in private classified ads, for travel to collections, or for livestock health after a private sale. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
